And thanks again for sharing Vol. 2.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for this too. Not wishing to look a gift horse...but, is it possible to upload fichier files in one rather than two parts? Fichier makes not paid up downloaders wait between downloads.
ReplyDeleteIn another context, a comment was made about downloads failing, especially big ones, which then necessitated starting over again. 1fichier is quite reliable as far as I know though so in future will upload in one as you suggest. Easy this end too.
DeleteYou've never had it so good!!! I remember hours and hours of waiting in the early days, even setting alarm clocks. :-D
Thanks for the second volume. seems to be a 15 mins wait between downloads. I can put up Zippy links when I get both parts.

DeleteVery nice post.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Rodney and bluebird!
Two really great posts this weekend - will be bopping along all next week to these! I echo rebf942 about fishier, and yes zippy would be a much preferred option - but I'm grateful for whichever you use.
ReplyDeleteThanks bluebird and Rodney never heard Vol 2, looking forward to hearing it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Vol 2.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for Vol 2. this will give me some good listening time. I echo Terry Peck about zippyshare, I've always found it so reliable.
ReplyDeleteThe enormous problem with zippyshare is that the links only last about 5 minutes!
ReplyDeleteOne could, of course, brush the cobwebs of the wallet and pay for a one year sub to fichier - currently €20. Then simultaneous, no waiting, high speed downloading would be no problem.
Zippy links should last as long as they are being downloaded and expire after 30 days without any activity. It only took me 5 minutes to upload those two links, so re-up not really any problem.
DeleteThanks Rodney and Bluebird! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteSince I use Zippy almost exclusively, I can join the fray; Yes Zippy links don't last long but you can download an infinite number simultaneously and it id very quick. My problem is that sometimes when they crap out in the middle of an upload. yes, I could spend money on fichier, etc, but I would rather buy new music. That's just me. Zippy is free so i use it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, thanks again, Bluebird and Rodney!
I much appreciate the Alan Branscombe item - it's new to me. The mbf download was very quick. Thankypou.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback, Keith.
DeleteGreat post, many thanks for the share
ReplyDeleteMany thanks to Bluebird and Rodney. I used to see Alan Branscombe with the Dankworth orchestra at the Savoy Ballroom, Southsea in the early 1960s on piano and in the sax section. Unfortunately most of the alto sax solos were naturally taken by Dankworth himself, so it's a treat to hear his sax playing on these two rare albums.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed these two albums, I wasn't much familiar with Alan Branscombe on alto. British jazzmen were often little known on the continent (apart from a few bigger names - Lyttleton, Barber ...), For whatever reason, we were more familiar with Scandinavians, Germans or French than with the Brits. I guess it has to do with the preeminence of pop/beat music in UK at the time.
ReplyDeleteCheers
