  1. Gonzo ... looking forward to this to hear your work on it ... I had Hot House and Golden Striker as a single when I was discovering jazz (Dinosaurs roamed then) ... have you Barber's Best Yet lp ... Thanks Baron VB

  2. Sadly no I do not have that album, at that time I was having my attention to music diverted by other activities, no further comment needed!!!

  3. Many thanks again gonzo. I have a mp3 rip of this from the site below but a gonzo lossless rip will be the bee's knees!

    @Baron VB

    A mp3 rip of 'Best Yet' can be found below (the megaupload link works) with a few other CB's

  4. Thank for that link, before I started working on this album I checked around, found nothing, quite amazing as soon as I post, there are at least 2 copies on other blogs, however they seem to be the MONO versions: @Baron VB the MP3 version of Barbers best seems to be quite good, just in need of a little de-noising. I might have a go at it, but of course it will never be up to FLAC standard.

  5. Thanks Jazzuk ... that site is where I first got to hear the tracks ... unfortunately the ones I liked were behind repair ... so I was just keeping my fingers crossed ... no problem as lots more to listen to ... Best Yet is available as is a lot of Barber ... so will buy when pennies are saved.

  6. Gonzo/JazzUk ... careful w the Best Yet as tracks do entirely match the listing. Trying to get to the bottom of this.

    Look out too for Barber Folk Style - can't remember where right now - I'm sure you'll find it.

  7. Gonz & JzUK ... solved Yvette is missing Blueberry Hill is present not listed.
    The lp is probably correct as issued but track listing was wrong. However my Jepsen bk does not list BHill on that lp but does Yvette.

    Strange but true

  9. Just realised that my copy of Best Yet came from the site below. It's actually a 2001 Metronome release called Barber's Best. A decent sounding (to me) 320vbr rip with full artwork (secure pdf) included.

    If you need it here's a tutorial on how to download from ifolder

    Folk Style is at darnell's place.

  10. This is a handy little gadget to have anyway, but if you wish to print off the artwork this will de-secure the pdf file

    Two more things - 1. King Kong Jazz Opera (maybe of interest to all our friends) can be found at Barbara Sounds site.

    2. How can I download RPS files when they message I'm already downloading (when I'm not!). IP address problems?
