A 1955 recording with the Quartet which includes Joe Harriott. Lita sticks to the well known standards - she was never too adventurous in her few jazz outings after she left the Ted Heath band. Was she a jazz singer? Perhaps.
Joe Harriott plays quite beautifully in his backing and solo spots and gives no indication of things to come in his later ground - breaking free form work.

I have few Harriott, but all of them from the late '60's !!!!
Many thanks for Lita Rosa with this great quartet. Perhaps she should have been more adventurous jazzwise...interesting!

Really good. Very pleased to hear thse Lita Rosa sides. She was someone I totally ignored back in the day (seemed far too showbizzy)but after hearing her version of 'Hey There' a year or so back I have become quite a convert. Once in a while the time comes when this is absolutely the right thing to listen to!
