0419 Don Rendell [Doggin' Around All the Winners] FLAC 4(16.39)

Contributed by Rodney, who writes:-
All the issued material from a 1957 session, the last track as part of an LP only.
Tuneful and boisterous music which reminds me somewhat of the west coast sound, the same kind of impetus.
Quite good sound quality even if I can't remember where it all came from now.
I could not quite make out exactly where Eddie Harvey plays the piano and valve trombone but it seems he was dodging from one to the other with some rapidity at times.
Fortunately, Ronnie Ross spends most of his time on baritone and while his alto outing is energetic and assertive, it was the larger instrument on which he excelled.

Bert Courtley - trumpet
Eddie Harvey - valve trombone, piano
Ronnie Ross - alto (02), baritone
Don Rendell - tenor
Kenny Napper - bass
Phil Seamen - drums

01 Rambo (Basie, Johnson) (6:18)
02 Doggin' Around (Evans, Battle) (3:41)
03 Salamander Stroll (Rendell) (3:27)
04 Rush Job (Harvey) (3:13)

Label: Nixa NJE1044 NJT509
Recorded: September 24 1957
Lineage: Uncertain
