0548 Harry Beckett [Joy Unlimited] FLAC 6(40.39)

Contributed by jazzjet, who writes:-
The title of this 1974 Harry Beckett LP became the name of his band for several years. It features the unusual front line of trumpet/flugelhorn and guitar. The guitarist in this original lineup is Ray Russell who made some fine LPs for CBS in the 1960s (‘Turn Circle’ and ‘Dragon Hill’) and later had a separate career as a composer of TV themes (Bergerac, A Touch of Frost etc). On keyboards is Brian Miller (Isotope, Turning Point etc). Shining through, however, is the lovely lyrical tone of Harry Beckett. Rarely has an LP been more appropriately titled.

Harry Beckett - trumpet, flugelhorn
Brian Miller - piano, electric piano, synthesizer
Ray Russell - guitar
Darryl Runswick - bass, bass guitar
Nigel Morris - drums
Martin David - congas
