0405 Stan Tracey [With Love From Jazz] FLAC 8(42.02)

Contributed by bluebird, who writes:-
A 1967 date from the Quartet, with the individual sound of Bobby Wellins, in a programme of Tracey originals.
Stan makes an appearance on vibes on one track, an instrument he rarely played after leaving the Ted Heath Band.
Bobby all but disappeared off the music scene for the next ten years after this recording, leaving behind the pressures and drug problems in London for the South coast. He has referred to this period as his 'dark days'.
But he came back in the late 1970s and is now playing (and still recording) as well as, if not better than, ever.
FLAC from lp with cover scans.

Stan Tracey - piano, celeste (07), vibes (08)
Dave Green - bass

  1. Wow, that's a great album! Playing it right now for the first time (ever), and it is a delight. Another tiny triumph for Britjazz, but then again why isn't someone reissuing these sets properly. Anyway, thanks again - I am most grateful.

  7. Good to see and hear this one. I'm slightly ashamed to note that I've listened to Stan Tracey much more since his sad passing earlier this year, but better late than never, I hope.......
