  1. The Harry South Band was a ground breaking unit in British Jazz history. Sadly, there are very few recordings to show just how good the band was sounding. One wonders if it could have held together for a lengthy period just what wonderful sounds we would be able to hear. Thank you.

  2. Thanks for this. I heard Harry many times at the Bull's Head, Barnes with the Dick Morrissey group, and went to most of his Big Band recordings for the BBC. I agree with Keith's comments above.

  3. Very nice indeed to have a good copy of this - I had a rather rough transcription from another jazz blog but this is much better. Good music! Its hard now to believe that years ago when I heard the name 'Harry South Big Band' on tv or radio I would mentally tune out. It was getting a copy of Dick Morrissey's fabulous STORM WARNING few years back that made me think this South bloke might be worth a bit of attention, and indeed he is.
