  4. Nice. The little known Stan Jones also appeared with The Jazzmakers - Co-leaders:Allan Ganley (Drums)and Ronnie Ross (Baritone Sax)and Tenor sax: Art Ellefson Piano: Stan Jones Bass: Stan Wasser. This group appeared at the JAZZ JAMBOREE 1958 Sunday 23rd November, 1958 at the Gaumont State, Kilburn.

The night wasn't all jazz, though, as also on the bill were Norrie Paramor and the Big Ben Banjo Band as well as Edmundo Ros !!!!

  5. @aroonie. We know someone who would be very interested in a recording of the Jazzmakers concert if it exists. No hope, we suppose.

  6. Excellent and many thanks for this fabulous record.
Just one question : did anyone have any problem with decompressing the rar file? Seems to be a problem with the last track - Jellyroll. I only get just over a minute of it. I used Stuffit and UnRarx on a Mac and both produced the same result. Is it just me?

  7. Nothing wrong with the original rar file here, jazzjet - not with winrar anyway. Could be the upload although no other mentions of a problem so far. Which download did you take, RS or Mega? We will test whichever it is and renew if necessary.

  8. Thanks. I originally used RS but have just downloaded it again using Mega. It decompressed fine this time and Jellyroll is there in full. Maybe an RS problem? Or maybe a glitch with my own download.
Anyway, thanks again for sharing this great music.

  9. Dick Morrissey. Thank you very much, there was an article in Jazz Review a few years ago about Morrissey, he's very much a forgotten figure so thank you very much for this. There's some great jazz here.

  11. Thanks for this posting. Excellent music. I became aware of Dick Morrissey thru the jazz-rock band IF in the early seventies. His earlier material is not easy to find. Cheers.
