Here's another from the little known altoist Geoff Taylor.

ReplyDeleteWow, this is really Bostic-like, even down to the echo sound! I like it!
According to the Lord discography Taylor's recording career did not last beyond 1956. I would however not mind hearing more of Taylor's Esquire sessions from the mid-50s.
Many thanks for this one!
I very much enjoy the echo and atmosphere of this recording, the sax is really floating while retaining a sharp edge.
ReplyDeleteEager to hear this one...
ReplyDeleteJust wondering is this a rare EP?
One of my stores has it for a very very low price...,

@jeronimo - from bellawoods " not particularly rare but it is difficult to find - perhaps in the £10-£15 range for a decent copy. There have been no re-issues in any format".
ReplyDeleteThanks Britjazz and Bellawoods...The copy In know about is fair to decent...And under the 10 € range :)
ReplyDeleteStill need to download this one, and give it a listen first :)
Appreciated!
(Too often I forget about this well cared blog!)
