  1. This must be in the 'rare as hen's teeth' department being on Blue Note. Once again, many thanks for posting it and of course to Gleckit Loon.

  4. Cool Britons.

    Thanks BritJazz and Glekit Loon.
Just grabbed this to compare with my sound on an alternate source.
You don't often see this rare Bluenote and the whole session previously released in bits and pieces on various labels is crying out for a decent comprehensive UK release.

  5. The Cool Britons - New Sounds From Olde England

A year and a half later and I have now finally burnt and listened to this album. It is very good! Superb playing from all participants and nice compositions. It should be better known, but it was a late 10-incher that soon would be obsolete when Blue Note, like other labels, switched to the 12-inch format.

It is also one of the few early Blue Notes that haven't come out on CD in any form. Many thanks to Gleckit Loon for providing this fine rip!

By the way, does anyone know who the composers are to "Jazz Club U.S.A." and "Epigram"? I have not been able to find info on that for those two tunes.

  6. @chu. Jazz Club USA was composed by Leonard Feather - it appears on John Graas [Jazz Studio 5] too. Epigram appears only here as far as we can ascertain. Can't tell who wrote it. Could be another LF tune perhaps? "Rhythm" changes.

Does anybody know who the composer of "Amalgam" is ?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. @David - The label just says 'Olsen' Dudley Moore did write a tune of the same name but it is not the same as on 'Cool Britons'. If you can find out any more, please let us know.
