Thanks for the DropBox link.
ReplyDeleteGot this from the Boogieman some time ago but an excellent addition.
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank the Britjazz team and other jazz enthusiasts for posting all these wonderful
ReplyDeleteexamples of British jazz and let us know about musicians as John Dankworth, Dizzy Reece, Vic Ash,
Jimmy Deuchar, Humphrey Lyttelton and many others.....
Thanks Boogieman - fan of Keith Christie's work.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Just wanna thank Paul D. for ripping this record from his extensive collection and for taking the time to clean it. I was only the medium for posting it.
DeleteCheers
I beg your pardon, Paul D and Boogieman. Post amended. I'd forgotten and failed to check.
DeleteUnable to extract this file, downloads OK, but will not extract, states error, can anyone help?
ReplyDeleteTornado304. I've downloaded from both sources and extracted both with no problem. You did enter the pw I suppose? I suggest you try again from the other source - you did not mention which one you used - maybe a couple of times. It is likely to be either a problem on your computer or an error occurring during the download. Let us know if you still can't get it.
DeleteMany thanks. No problem download here -- dropbox most welcome. As is more Vic Ash who I have just wikipeded to check that he is still -- unusually for the musicians posted here -- alive. I see a recording session with Maxine Sullivan in London in 1954 is noted. This I have never seen. Anybody know it ?
ReplyDeleteZoot - Maxine Sullivan recorded two tracks with the Vic Ash Quartet in 1953 issued as just a single at the time. They are included on a cd re-issue called 'Maxine Sullivan - the 1950s - Swinging Miss Loch Lomand 1953-1959' on Baldwin Street Music. The cd is still available from Amazon/ebay but we do not have it.
Deletemany thanks info. I'm great admirer of mature Maxine but these had escaped me.
ReplyDeleteThanky you for all these wonderful gems. This one is ven more special...recorded on the day I was born...Hooray!
