A lovely solo record from pianist Lennie Felix and dating from 1958. The two takes of 'Pennies...' are very different indeed in tempo and approach but both equally enjoyable.

Thanks for this gem!
ReplyDeleteThank you, azule serape. I really enjoyed this record. Good to hear more of Felix.
ReplyDeleteThis is very nice azule, thank you. Great to hear one of the 'unknowns'.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks - it's about 45 years since I last heard this. I suppose it's too much to hope that someone could upload Cat on a hot tin piano from 1959 or Nat Gonella's Salute to Satchmo, which also had Felix on board.
ReplyDelete@rebf942. Sorry, we don't have those, yet anyway. More Felix later though.
Deleteonce again your blog proves its value! Lennie should not be forgotten and I am delighted to play this to friends to share his talent. Many thanks.
