Thanks again. Jimmy Deuchar was a much under-rated trumpeter.
ReplyDeleteDeuchar Showcase.
ReplyDeleteJust listening to this now with the great Derek Humble and Ken Wray playing. What a shame that Humble never got the chance to record under his own name but he gets lots of space here and did you notice he plays baritone sax on some tracks?
I've always liked the alcohol related tracks - I wonder why? (there are 4 more similar tracks somewhere on another Deuchar session)
Thanks for sharing this good music Cornelius.
Jimmy Deuchar...Great! The gems keep coming. With yet another Brit pianist that went Stateside. Many thanks Cornelius.

Thanks again for this interesting, no nonsense blog of genuine rarities!

Thanks for all the support and encouragement. I always used to pronounce the tune "Base (as the instrument) House" but it should be "Bass (like the fish) House" no doubt, after the beer.
ReplyDeleteBritish pianists exported stateside? Must do a count. Derek Smith, Victor Feldman, Ronnie Ball, Dill Jones then. Must be lots more. Oh, George Shearing of course.
Cornelius
Two more Brit pianist exports off the top of my head...Ralph Sharon and I suppose Marian McPartland.
