Contributed by aroonie, who writes:-

In my opinion his best band ever with a great sax section of Tony Coe, Jimmy Skidmore and Joe Temperley. To me Skid was THE greatest of the Hawkins inspired tenor players (of the Brits, that is) and here he proves it on Body and Soul. But there is not a weak track.

Note: Please welcome new contributor aroonie, affording a welcome break to the regulars and in fine style. BJ

  4. Thanks for digitising this record. Is this the right download file? It won't open with the password and it says it's 0216 Johnny Dankworth [And His Orchestra] FLAC 4(10.11). A new upload would be very welcome. Is there any information on where and when the recording was made?

  9. Thanks aroonie. Great band. I have a mp3 rip of this album but always nice to have better quality.

I think 'recorded June/July 1960' should be up above somewhere.

  15. One of my very favorite records by the "mainstream Humph". I am happy to have the original LP. And I second Keith Horner's remark: I miss him, too ! He was the last renaissance man also active in Jazz.
